Embracing the lessons of the past and spreading the Good News
As we look back on the year that has passed, we can see the countless lessons we’ve learned through our experiences and mistakes. It’s easy to get caught up in what we’ve lost or missed, but what truly matters is how we move forward. The lessons we’ve gained from our past are treasures to carry with us, not burdens to discard. Let’s embrace them, learn from them, and use them as stepping stones to move ahead with purpose and determination.
Reflecting on Christmas: Did we share the Good News?
Christmas is a time of celebration, love, and joy—a time to reflect on the birth of Christ and His message of salvation. But did we truly live out the essence of Christmas this year? Did we visit our unsaved friends and family to share the joy of Christ's birth, or did we only connect with those who already know Him?
As followers of Christ, we are called not just to celebrate His birth, but to share the Good News with those who haven’t heard it yet. The Great Commission reminds us that we are to go and make disciples of all nations and we read about this in Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,.
Did we take the opportunity to reach out to those who don’t yet know Christ, to share the love and hope that Christmas brings?
Christmas isn’t just a day on the calendar—it’s a lifestyle. Every day is an opportunity to live out the message of Christ, to love others, and to share His Good News. So, if we didn’t reach out to the unreached this Christmas, how can we make up for it in the year ahead? The question remains: Why didn’t we take that step?
Every day is Christmas
Let’s not wait for another Christmas to share the Good News. Every day should be an opportunity to bring the light of Christ to those around us. Are we not being selfish when we withhold the message of salvation from those who need it most? How can we call ourselves serious about spreading the Gospel if we’re not actively engaging in bringing Christ to those who are still in darkness?
We must ask ourselves Do we truly desire that our non-Christian friends, family, and neighbors come to know Christ and experience the gift of salvation? If we do, then we can’t afford to remain silent. Every moment is a gift, and we must not waste a single one.
Conclusion
As we embrace the new year, let us strive to make the most of every moment. The lessons of the past year are valuable, but the future holds even more potential. Let’s take the opportunities before us to spread God’s love and the message of salvation. As we continue to grow in our own faith, let us also grow in our desire to see others come to know Christ.
